Infrastructure Engineer

Job Overview

Midwest Fastener Corp. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to maintain and control computer networks and any computer environments that are related to configuration, hardware/software programs, and structures software. This individual will also be troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving problems, as well as implementing and designing network solutions. The infrastructure Engineer will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions. The Infrastructure Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues. Additionally, the Infrastructure Engineer will need to be able to combine technical skills with big picture thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Primary support, administration and reporting through planning, implementation, maintenance/upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting network and systems hardware and software
  • Configure, manage, monitor and optimize: infrastructure and applications; backup environment; Windows and Microsoft Platforms including Exchange, IIS, Office 365 cloud platform, Windows clustering and HA solutions, Azure; SQL Server; VLANS, Active Directory; and WatchGuard Firewalls
  •  Test system integrity, implement designs, production and development processes related to infrastructure; making improvements as needed
  • Work alongside help desk infrastructure team to handle ticket escalations
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain and understand the supply chain data and needs and provide continuous improvements
  • Ensures architecture project roll-outs meet security standards and effectively integrate with current applications
  • Support network operating system, applications, and utility software

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, computer hardware/software systems, databases, system security and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent knowledge of VPN, site-to-site, IPSEC, and tunnel modes
  • Expert experience in managing VMware based virtualized environments
  • 3-5 years professional experience in building and maintaining a complex network and phone system
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
